What we all decided on doing for the slinky malinki redraw, what we’re going to change, texture and colours.
These are the sketches for one of the pages I’m doing for this project, they aren’t too visible but they do exist.
This is my first page done with fine liner, I forgot to add the tree so I’ll have to do that digitally. I made a few mistakes but I’m sure I can fix it in the final product.
I tried to make the focal point slinky’s face and paw swatting at the leaf.
This is my second page lined, I tried to simplify the pillow a bit so it doesn’t look too cluttered.
I might try putting things in the background so the glue, pen, and banana doesn’t look so out of place.
For my first texture trial I focused on the leaves, I didn’t want to use the texture the same way so I rotated it and modified the contrast and brightness for some. I wanted the leaf on top to pop out more so the focus is more on Slinky playing with the leaves and not the leaves in the background. I’m planning on adding a tree to the background so it’s a bit more like the original.
I tried to focus on Slinky on this one, I’d say it turned out well. I think I need to work on objects more because the banana kind of looks off to me.
This is the first page finished, I tried to smooth out the texture on Slinky a bit but still have it noticeable. I just thought there was too much texture on him, doing this I think I made him stand out a little bit more but also keeping focal point on his eyes and leaf.
I also didn’t end up adding a tree to the background.
